Nothing like being snowed under on a Monday morning. While most sensible minifigures were still tucked up indoors with a hot brew, the Little Mountain Rescue Team found themselves staring out at a world that had been completely transformed overnight. Snow covered everything — roads, fields, and the sort of footpaths that usually look perfectly harmless… until they disappear. With reports coming in of walkers struggling in the conditions, it was time to dust off the winter kit. Extra layers were added (some more stylish than others), helmets adjusted, and the inevitable debate about who forgot their gloves began. Moving through snow is never easy. Every step takes more effort, visibility drops, and landmarks you rely on suddenly vanish. Even for a team made entirely of LEGO®, winter conditions demand patience, teamwork, and a bit of stubborn determination. Despite the cold, spirits stayed high. There’s something about snow that brings out both the seriousness of the job and the joy of being out together. A slipped footing here, a dramatic slow-motion tumble there — all quickly laughed off before carrying on. Thankfully, everyone involved made it back safely. Another reminder that while snow can look beautiful, it can also catch people out very quickly. If you’re heading out in winter conditions, always plan ahead, check the forecast, and let someone know where you’re going. And remember — if things don’t go to plan, teams like Derby Mountain Rescue are always ready to respond. Until the next callout… stay warm.
